iBook G4 overclock

After buying Vaz’s G4 Yikes, he was contemplating the idea of his iBook G4 to be upclocked so he could install Leopard on it and run some newer programs.

Well, after some talking about what had to be done, he brought it over to my office and i performed the mod on it.

Originally an iBook G4 800 MHz, it now runs as a 1 GHz model with 32 MB video ram.

Once the mod was finished, i stress tested the CPU for defects, and it found none. I also ran iTunes all night to see if it would kernel panic, and it didn’t.

So now he has a faster iBook that he will be happy to use all over again.
