iMac G3 mod part 2

Second part is the top fan mod. I had the old 80 mm fans from when the Sawtooth was up and running so i decided to use it.

Reasoning for this mod is that whenever i turned on the iMac, it would get really hot when i touched the top. This was a big concern for me.

I really wish Apple would rethink their cooling solutions on their computers.

So now everything is connected and put back together, i go to turn it on and.......      Nothing!!

**Now would be a good time to Panic!!!!!!**

I disassembled the bottom tray again to retrace my steps on what went wrong.......

So after it starts up again, the top fan comes to life. I put on iTunes and have been listening to a radio station for about an hour now and i went to check the top of the iMac and it’s cool to the touch. No more really hot plastic and because 2 fans are doing double time, the noise level has come down. That’s a good thing.
